Doctoral Colloquium 2025 Winter

Osijek Doctoral Colloquium 2025 Winter served a total of 17 student attendees. During the Winter Program, there were 7 students in Osijek (Croatia), 7 students in Almaty (Kazakhstan), and 3 student participants online.

The greatest benefit of the program consists in access to an immense library, full of resources, providing exceptional support for independent research. In addition, the mentors within the program are extremely well-prepared, bringing with them years of experience. The staff involved in the program is equally remarkable, always available to help with any administrative issues. Another important benefit is the possibility of acquiring new books and materials. This flexibility enriches the research experience” (Winter 2025 ODC participant).

The time spent here, the professionalism of those who organized this program, the meetings with the mentors, the advice of the teachers and last but not least the openness of the participants contributed significantly to my motivation to follow this path of knowledge and understanding, both of my own faith and of others. The expectations I came here with were rather related to access to the library, but they were far exceeded, and the fears were very nicely managed by the mentors and teachers. I found an impressive library here, but besides that, I found very well-prepared people, very good study conditions, encouragement from all sides, a well-structured program and all in unison to lead you towards knowledge and work in the service of the Church” (Winter 2025 ODC participant).

Ability to speak about my subject with mentors, who are not only from various church backgrounds and geographical regions but also in theological fields. This gave me awareness of how they understand my thinking and concepts and terms even, and helped me to sharpen my mind and arguments. I appreciated that they understood me and were able to cope with my topic from their views, and each of them moved me in my thinking forward in one or other respect” (Winter 2025 ODC participant).

A great advantage is the joint study group and the particularly encouraging attitude of the mentors. No one was blamed, no religious debates were opened. There was a good atmosphere and professional discussions. The librarians also supported the students to a great extent. A very good environment for further progress in studies” (Winter 2025 ODC participant).

I want to thank you and wish you all the best and God bless you! I truly feel the same Holy Spirit among us, as when I am in my country, because the mentors, participants and all the people in this institute are good people and want to grow and share love with others” (Winter 2025 ODC participant).
